Itinerary
1 DAY: Arrival in Bishkek
Day 1: Arrival in Bishkek
Arrival at Manas International Airport.
Meet your guide and transfer to Bishkek.
After check-in, take a relaxed orientation walk through the city center.

2 DAY: Bishkek & Ala Archa - Issyk Kul
Day 2: Bishkek to Ala-Archa National Park to Issyk-Kul
After breakfast, drive to Ala-Archa National Park.
Enjoy a medium-level mountain hike through the gorge, with views toward the high Tien Shan peaks. The exact route is selected according to the season and weather.
During the main trekking season, a longer route toward the upper valley can be arranged. In colder months, the hike remains at a suitable lower elevation.
After the hike, continue toward Lake Issyk-Kul.
Overnight: Guesthouse / hotel at Issyk-Kul
Hiking: approximately 4–6 hours depending on route

3 DAY: Canyon & Waterfall
Day 3: Issyk-Kul to Skazka Canyon to Barskoon Valley to Jeti-Oguz
Travel along the southern shore of Issyk-Kul.
Visit Skazka (Fairy Tale) Canyon, famous for its colorful sandstone formations and unusual shapes.
Continue toward the Barskoon area and then to Jeti-Oguz, where the famous red sandstone formations known as the Seven Bulls rise above the valley.
Take a short acclimatization walk around the Jeti-Oguz area.
Overnight: Guesthouse / yurt camp in Jeti-Oguz
Hiking: 2–3 hours

4 DAY: Jeti Oguz
Day 4: Jeti-Oguz Valley Medium Trek
Today begins with a proper mountain trekking day.
Depending on the season, trek deeper into the Jeti-Oguz valley or toward the Kok-Jaiyk area.
The route follows mountain streams, forest and open alpine pasture, with panoramic views of the surrounding Terskey Ala-Too mountains.
In winter, the route is shortened and adapted for snow conditions.
Overnight: Jeti-Oguz

5 DAY: Jeti Oguz - Karakol - Valley
Day 5: Jeti-Oguz to Karakol to Jyrgalan Valley
Morning transfer to Karakol.
Visit some of Karakol’s cultural highlights before continuing east to Jyrgalan Valley.
Jyrgalan lies at approximately 2,300–2,400 m and has developed into an important base for trekking, horse trekking and winter mountain activities.
After arrival, settle into a local guesthouse and take a short evening walk through the village.

6 DAY: Jyrgalan Acclimatization
Day 6: Jyrgalan Valley Acclimatization Trek
Start your Jyrgalan trekking section with a medium day hike.
Possible routes include:
- Kok-Bel Valley
- Kok-Bel Waterfall
- Jyrgalan meadow trails
- Ridge viewpoints
- Eki-Chat area
- Seasonal pasture routes
The exact route depends on weather and trail conditions.
The Kok-Bel route, for example, is around 12 km and reaches approximately 2,659 m, making it useful as an acclimatization hike before higher routes.

7 DAY: Turnaluu-Kol Lake
Day 7: Turnaluu-Kol Lake Trek
Today trek toward Turnaluu-Kol, a remote alpine lake surrounded by mountain landscapes.
The official Jyrgalan trekking network lists this as a 13.3 km day hike with a maximum elevation of about 2,862 m. It is classified as easy, making it a good recovery day between the more demanding mountain sections.
Enjoy lunch beside the lake before returning to Jyrgalan.
Summer: trekking to Turnaluu-Kol
Winter: snowshoeing / winter valley hike to an accessible viewpoint or lake area, depending on snow conditions

Hiking: approximately 5–6 hours

8 DAY: Lakes & Alpine Mountain Day
Day 8: Boz-Uchuk Lakes Trek – Alpine Mountain Day
This is the main trekking highlight of the summer itinerary.
Depart Jyrgalan early and trek into the Boz-Uchuk Valley, following mountain meadows and forest toward the alpine lake basin.
The Boz-Uchuk route is approximately 46 km over 3 days and 2 nights, with a maximum elevation around 3,471 m. It is classified as a medium-difficulty trek.
Depending on the chosen itinerary and group fitness, the route can be organized with:
- Local horse support
- Yurt accommodation
- Camping
- Homestay-supported trekking
- Shorter variations
Summer: full Boz-Uchuk trekking section
Winter: replace with a guided snowshoeing / winter trekking day in the lower Jyrgalan Valley.
Overnight: Mountain camp / yurt in summer; guesthouse in winter
Hiking: 6–8 hours
Difficulty: Moyen
Meals: Breakfast, picnic lunch, dinner
9 DAY: Mountain Pass
Day 9: Boz-Uchuk Lakes to Mountain Pass to Jyrgalan
Continue through the alpine lake basin.
The route climbs toward the higher part of the trail, with panoramic views of the Terskey Ala-Too range.
Depending on weather, snow and group condition, the guide selects the safest available pass or viewpoint.
Descend toward the valley.
The classic Boz-Uchuk route reaches around 3,470 m and includes significant elevation gain, so this day represents the most demanding trekking section of the program.
Overnight: Jyrgalan guesthouse
Hiking: 6–8 hours

10 DAY: Altyn-Arashan Area
Day 10: Jyrgalan to Karakol to Altyn-Arashan Area
Return to Karakol and continue toward the Altyn-Arashan Valley.
Depending on season and road conditions, access can be arranged by 4WD followed by a moderate mountain walk.
The valley is famous for its alpine scenery, forests and natural hot springs.
Enjoy a relaxing evening after the trekking section.

11 DAY: Return to Bishkek
Day 11: Altyn-Arashan to Karakol to Issyk-Kul to Bishkek
Morning walk around the Altyn-Arashan area.
Return to Karakol and begin the drive back toward Bishkek.
Stop along Lake Issyk-Kul for photographs and a final view of the Tien Shan mountains.
Continue to Bishkek.

Day 12: Bishkek Departure
