Eagle hunting is recognized as part of the broader living heritage of Kyrgyz and Central Asian communities.

  • Traditional decorations

The yurt is much more than accommodation: it remains an important symbol of family, hospitality and nomadic identity, with traditional yurt-making knowledge transmitted through families and apprentices.

Depending on the location and season, participate in a short demonstration of yurt assembly or traditional decoration.

After lunch, begin the journey back toward Bishkek.

Stop at scenic viewpoints along Issyk-Kul and the Boom Gorge.

Seasonal operation

SUMMER: JUNE TO SEPTEMBER

The full cultural program operates with:

  • Song-Kul yurt stay
  • Nomadic family visits
  • Horse riding
  • Jailoo experience
  • Traditional dairy demonstrations
  • Felt-making
  • Eagle hunting
  • Yurt experience

Song-Kul is particularly valuable during summer because the high pasture becomes active with seasonal herding families and yurt camps.

SPRING & AUTUMN

The itinerary can use lower-altitude cultural communities around:

  • Kochkor
  • Issyk-Kul
  • Bokonbaevo
  • Kyzyl-Tuu
  • Chuy Valley

Song-Kul can be replaced if road or weather conditions prevent access.

WINTER: NOVEMBER TO MARCH

The tour becomes a low-altitude cultural experience.

Instead of Song-Kul, use:

  • Kochkor handicraft workshops
  • Indoor felt-making
  • Yurt-making demonstrations
  • Traditional cooking
  • Eagle-hunting programs where available
  • Local family visits
  • Bishkek cultural experiences
  • Issyk-Kul south-shore communities

This makes the product genuinely adaptable throughout the year rather than advertising a summer-only Song-Kul experience as year-round.
