Itineraries

Day 1

Start in Bishkek → Burana Tower → Chon Kemin Valley

Your adventure begins in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan. After meeting your guide, you’ll set off towards the historic Burana Tower, an ancient minaret from the 11th century that once marked the Silk Road city of Balasagun. Explore the tower and the nearby open-air museum with stone petroglyphs and balbals (ancient Turkic grave markers).

From there, continue your scenic journey to the picturesque Chon-Kemin Valley, known for its lush meadows, alpine forests, and traditional Kyrgyz villages. Upon arrival, settle into a cozy guesthouse surrounded by stunning mountain landscapes. Enjoy a homemade dinner and get a taste of rural Kyrgyz hospitality as you prepare for the days ahead.

Day 2

Chon Kemin → Grigoriev Gorge → Cholpon Ata

After breakfast in the peaceful Chon-Kemin Valley, the journey continues toward the shimmering shores of Lake Issyk-Kul. En route, you’ll explore the breathtaking Grigoriev Gorge, one of the most scenic spots in the region. Take a short walk through the gorge, surrounded by lush greenery, alpine lakes, and snow-capped peaks — a perfect place to breathe in the fresh mountain air and take photos.

In the afternoon, arrive in Cholpon-Ata, a lakeside resort town on the northern shore of Issyk-Kul. Visit the Rukh Ordo Cultural Center, an open-air complex that blends history, spirituality, and art from different cultures and religions. Enjoy a guided walk through the beautifully curated grounds before settling into your hotel for the night, with the option to stroll along the lake or relax after the day’s journey.

Day 3

Cholpon Ata → Jeti Oguz → Barskoon Gorge → Karakol

Today you'll follow the southern shore of Lake Issyk-Kul, heading deeper into the heart of Kyrgyzstan’s mountain beauty. Your first stop is Jeti-Ögüz Gorge, famous for its striking red sandstone formations, including the legendary “Seven Bulls” and “Broken Heart” rocks. Take a short hike or simply enjoy the panoramic views of this iconic natural site.

Next, continue to Barskoon Gorge, known for its majestic waterfalls and scenic forested trails. You'll see monuments to Yuri Gagarin, the first man in space, who once vacationed here, and have time to explore one of the picturesque waterfalls nestled in the mountains.

By late afternoon, arrive in Karakol, a charming town at the foot of the Terskey Alatau range. After check-in, you’ll have free time to relax or explore the town’s unique blend of Russian, Dungan, and Kyrgyz cultures.

Day 4

Karakol → Skazka Canyon → Bokonbaevo

After breakfast in Karakol, begin your journey along the southern shore of Lake Issyk-Kul, heading toward the surreal landscapes of Skazka Canyon, also known as Fairy Tale Canyon. This natural wonder is famous for its colorful, wind-carved rock formations that resemble castles, animals, and mythical creatures — a perfect spot for walking, photography, and letting your imagination roam.

Continue to the peaceful village of Bokonbaevo, nestled between the lake and the mountains. Here, you’ll experience authentic Kyrgyz culture and warm hospitality. In the afternoon, meet a local eagle hunter and learn about the ancient tradition of hunting with golden eagles, a practice passed down through generations.

Spend the evening in a local yurt camp, enjoying a traditional dinner and the tranquil atmosphere of rural Kyrgyzstan.

Day 5

Bokonbaevo → Kyrzyl-Tuu → Kochkor → Bishkek

On your final day, begin the return journey to Bishkek with a few meaningful cultural stops along the way.

Your first stop is in the village of Kyzyl-Tuu, known for its skilled yurt makers. Visit a local workshop to see how traditional Kyrgyz yurts are handcrafted — from the wooden frame to the felt covering — and learn about the symbolism behind this iconic nomadic dwelling.

Continue to Kochkor, a town famous for its vibrant felt-making traditions. Visit a women’s cooperative where artisans produce beautiful handmade felt products such as carpets (shyrdaks), souvenirs, and accessories. You’ll get a chance to see a felt-making demonstration and shop for unique local crafts.

After lunch, drive through scenic mountain passes and arrive in Bishkek by late afternoon or early evening. The tour ends with drop-off at your hotel or the airport, filled with unforgettable memories of Kyrgyzstan’s nature, culture, and warm-hearted people.
